Challenge -- Freshly Made Sketches # 153

It has been a long time since I have done a Challenge!  I love doing them and Sketch challenges are my favourite.  Freshly Made Sketches had a wonderful and simple sketch this week and since the weather outside is frightful I thought I would get crafting to pass the time.

I have been in the mood to make Christmas cards this week, and with the weather in Calgary you can see why!

I created this Clean and Simple card with some of my favourite items from this years Holiday Catalogue.  I hope you like it.

I used the new "All is Calm" Designer Washi Tape to create the tree and punched it out with the new SU Tree Punch.  I added some touches of silver and Lost Lagoon with paper, ink and the embellishments.  Nothing to complicated and I now have a simple and elegant Christmas card.  Let me know what you think.

Challenge -- Fab Friday #39

It has been awhile since I did a challenge.  I choose "Fab Friday" because I like sketch challenges and I really liked the inspiring examples they have.
I still struggled with it, as always.  I tried a couple of different themes and colour combos but in the end I went with simple neutrals.  It is a little rugged for a wedding card but it is still elegant.  I hope you like it.

I used Very Vanilla, and Crumb Cake card stock, burlap ribbon and satin vanilla ribbon (retired), champagne glimmer paper, and Soft Suede ink.

Check out "Fab Friday" for other great Ideas and Challenges.

And Don't Forget  ... FREE SHIPPING until Friday night.

Valentine - The Paper Players Challenge #179

The Paper Players Challenge #179, a single layer Valentine's Challenge.

I like simple cards.  This is no secret. I love all of the entries in this challenge and could easily CASE them! They are amazing.  I wanted to try something I don't do often.  I join challenges to be challenged so I wanted to create something simple but out of my comfort zone.

I used masking  and spritzers to create this card.   Real Red and Smoky Slate ink were used to create the heart and "love"  I added a glittery "u" and some bling for a small amount of embellishments.    I hope you like it!

Just Sayin' - Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #118

Have you ever looked at a product and just known you would love, use it and keep it forever?   That is what happened when I saw the Just Sayin' stamp set and coordinating Word Bubbles Framelits.  I mean, "Word Bubbles!!"  awesome!

When I saw the FMS challenge for this week I pulled out my all new Stamp set and got to work.  I hope you like it.

I first thought was about colour and background.  I wanted to use colours that I had not used in a while and the In Colour Baked Brown Sugar and to coordinate with it I used Bermuda Bay.  the Background was more of a challenge. I wanted texture but not too busy and keeping with my love of Word Bubbles I created a white on white background by cutting out and attaching a number of framelits.

I added a few little flags and some detail with a marker.  Let me know what you think.

Challenge - Freshly Made Sketches #110

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas outside and I have had some time to create.

I used the FMS Challenge to create this glitzy Christmas Card and I used lots of silver and rhinestones.

The colours used were, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White and Silver Glimmer paper.   Ink was Silver, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party.

I used the Gorgeous Grunge Set for the background and the Festive Flurry set for the snowflakes.  The sentiment is from the very popular "Endless Wishes" Photopolymer set.

Check out Freshly Made Sketches for some great inspiration!

Thanks for looking, I would love to know what you think.

Challenge -- Freshly Made Sketches #100!

Well my frustration level is at an all time high today!  I have been trying to enter this Challenge for 2 days now and have had nothing but trouble with my photo editing software!   I purchased a new laptop a couple of weeks ago and try as I might this new Windows 8 is just driving me nuts!   I also got the all new and not so improved Microsoft office.  This new software is lacking in one major area, Photo Software!  I used to use and love Microsoft Picture Manger, it is now gone and I miss it A LOT!  I have finally settled on Corell Paintshop and it seems to be getting the job done, there is a learning curve but it's coming along.

Ok enough ranting!!!   Lets get to the Challenge.

This week is FMS 100th sketch!  I have been living and breathing Christmas, Halloween and Thanksgiving in my craft room lately so Wedensday I took a break from all of that and made some Birthday cards.   Below in one of the cards I made and I just love the colours and fun of it all.

Ok so I admit I might have gotten a little carried away with the editing.  It's a bit dark but I will work on that for next time!

This card was made using the Birthday Basics DSP.  I got all of the great rich colours from this paper.  I used Very Vanilla for the base and Bermuda Bay for the first layer. Then I used Raspberry Ripple and Crisp Cantaloupe for my accent colours.

Queen of Clean!!

For those of you who follow my blog I occasionally like to participate in blog challenges and usually when I do I enter the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I find I really like sketch challenges as I can choose my own colours and elements I just have to follow the sketch.  It allows me to be creative but still have that creative challenge.

Well last week I decided to enter the FMS Challenge and enter it just before my camping trip.  Well I was in for a very nice surprise when I got back!  I was chooses as the Queen of Clean!   Amazing!!  Thank you Jen so much for choosing my card!

Here is my card!

Thanks to everyone who visits my blog and to the wonderful ladies who commented on my card last week.

I used some old retired corduroy buttons and I love the texture they add.

Challenge -- Freshly Made Sketches #90

Well last week I made a card but with all of my good intentions I did not get it entered to FMS on time so this week I felt I needed to do it just on principle LOL.   I actually really like this very simple sketch.  There are so many ways you could go with this.  I just got my brand new Sketched Birthday Stamp set and I wanted get creating with it.  I also just received my Core'dinations Paper and really wanted to play with that.

I went with a Black and Bermuda Bay for my colours and I used Embossing Powders in Black and White.

I added a little splash of colour with a Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight Balloons.

I just love this Stamp Set!!

Let me know what you think!  I would love to hear from you.

Busy, Busy Busy!!

I have spent the past 10 day's spring cleaning, having a yard sale and catching up on Breaking Bad.  All to keep me distracted until my order of New Catalogue Goodies arrives (today!).

I did fit in a little card making but got too busy to post it.  In fact I did the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge for last week.  Since I never posted it however I did not get it entered in time!

The Sketch looks like this...
 Cute right?

My youngest daughter had two birthday party invites this past weekend and one of the parties was a bug party.  She even caught a very pretty little lady bug so this card was very appropriate.

I used the New Gingham Garden DSP for the little banners.  The Card Stock is Whisper White, Island Indigo and Melon Mambo.   Stamps used were "Bring on the Cake" and "Bug Me", and the twine is the Bakers Twine in Island Indigo.

The Gingham Garden just looks like summer to me.  I love the cheerful colours and designs in it.

It has been awhile since I did a Challenge but I was feeling stuck on a project today and just wanted some inspiration.  These challenges always get my creative juices flowing.  As I said in my last post I am totally in love with the Mosaic Madness set that is coming out soon so I put it to use on this card.

The Sentiment is also from the new catalogue.  The set is called "Really Good Greetings."

The Colours are the new In Colours also; Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana!

April Fools Day ....

I am hoping this beautiful weather we are having is not Mother Nature's version of an April Fools day joke.  I want Spring to stay, especially since I am too sick to enjoy it, and I am going on a field trip to the Zoo on Thursday with my daughters class!

Since another month is starting I will show you a new Scrapbook Challenge I have sent to my clients and my MDS version of the challenge.

Page 2

I really hope you can see this ok.  I guess I was not thinking about the white on white when I created these.    I took advantage of the Hexagon Punch in MDS.   I am really hopping to see this come out as an actual punch in the new Catalogue in June.

Another new Item in April is the "Best Of.." set.   April's theme is Butterflies!  Check this out.

Best Of Butterflies Clear-mount Stamp Set
Is this not a great set for spring and summer!  I just love butterflies (as you may have seen in my new Blog Header).
