All Dressed Up!

In January I got the Spring and Summer Mini in the mail, upon looking through it the first time I saw the "All Dressed Up" stamp set and coordinating Big Shot Dies and Framelits.  My first thought was, "what would I ever do with that!?"  Well as time went on I kept seeing more and more cards and projects done with this amazing combo of products.

After attending the Calgary Regional and swapping about 100 cards my mind was set.  I had received about 10 cards using this dress die or stamp set.  All of them were amazing and had me jonesing to play with these products.   Finally I got my hands on them and the first thing I did was recreate the front portion of a card that my Upline Amber Chapman had made.  I changed it up a bit but the overall impression is the same.

I loved it so much we made the front portion in Club.  I then started to play with the pop-up dies and created a fun interior piece too!

The Card Stock used was Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Raspberry Ripple and Silver Glimmer paper.   I also used the First Edition DSP, Flower Trim and pearl accents.  The Dies I used were the Dress Up Framelits Die, Oval Die, Apothecary Framelit Die, and Bitty Banners Framelit Die.

I love how it turned out and I plan to have lots more fun with these dies and stamp set.   Now I just hope it carries over to the New Catalogue!

Also don't forget to look for Treasure Hunt Clues and enter to win the Prize.

Calgary Stampin' Up Regional!!!

Today is a Stampin' Up Regional event here in Calgary and I am very excited to be attending.   Whenever I go to a Stampin' Up event one of my favourite parts is the SWAP!  I always make a bunch of cards and then take them to swap with other Stampin' Up Demos and Customers.   This year I made 50 myself and my client Nicole made 50 more.   She and I will end up with a lot of samples  from other card makers so it is a great way to share creativity.

Take a look and what I am bringing...

This card is the one I made for my swaps.  I did change it a little bit from what you see but overall it looks the same.
Recipe ...
Riding Hood Red - base
Early Espresso Layer (here it is Crumb Cake) - 4 x 5 1/4
Very Vanilla Layer - 3 3/4 x 5
Embossed with the Vine Street Embossing Folder
Aged with Crumb Cake Ink and a sponge
On Vanilla I stamped the Phone Booth (Feeling Sentimental) in Riding Hood Red and cut it out with an Oval Framelit then aged the edges with Crumb Cake.
Also on Vanilla I stamped the "hello" (Pretty Petites) in Riding Hood Red or Espresso and added it to the oval with Bakers Twine in Red or Espresso.  To add the twine I used a glue dot on the front and scotch tape on the back.  I then added the oval to the card with dimentionals.

This card I made for a challenge a long time ago and Nicole liked it so much she wanted to recreate it for her swaps.  (She did not add the sentiment so that others could use it as they saw fit).
Recipe ...
Whisper White -Base
Tempting Turquoise Layer - 3 1/2 x 4 3/4
Whisper White Layer - 3 1/4 x 4 1/2
Embossed with the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder
Tempting Turquoise DSP Pinwheel using the new Pinwheel Die and a small silver brad.
Crumb Cake "stick" - 1/8 x 2
Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon added with a wrinkle to it so it looks like it is blowing in the wind!

Nicole's swaps are a little different from the picture as she switched the DSP and Card Stock but I like her version better.

Well I am off to the convention center!   I hope to post some updates from the event on my Facebook page so keep your eyes out.

Have a great weekend.

Spring Mini - Hearts a Flutter Neutral

I seem to be attracted to the more neutral cards lately, cards with lots of white space or tone on tone.   I have seen a few Vanilla on White cards lately and I really like the look of them.

For this card I used a White base, Vanilla textured layer and Crumb Cake Ink and Seam Binding Ribbon. The "Hearts a Flutter" Stamp set and Framelits is very quickly becoming my favourite bundle in the new Mini, here I used it for the large hearts.  For texture I used the Honeycomb Embossing Folder and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake.

The small heart embellishment is a Vanilla heart covered in the pearl accents from the Catalogue.

In other news...

Last night I got a belated Christmas gift from my wonderful friend and client Nicole.  I just love the use of Designer Fabric for the lid and label made with the Window Framelits Collection (page 36 of the new Mini).

Thanks Nicole, I cannot wait to make the cookies!

Have a great Day!!!

You're A Star -- Popcorn Card

We love Popcorn in our house and when I  was surfing the web awhile back and saw a card using the Steam Framelit from the Holiday  Collection Framelits to make popcorn!!

Holiday Collection Framelits Dies See the one in the middle!  it is meant for the steam from the mug but on it's own looks like a small piece of popcorn. I have no idea who thought this one up but it is so cute!

I created the popcorn box with a Real Red base and strips of Whisper White paper.  I then added a movie strip using Basic Black Card Stock and punching the edges with the retired Spiral Edge Punch and added some white squares as the film cells.

The popcorn itself is, as I said, from the Holiday Collection Framelits Die.  I sponged the edges with So Saffron and made it look like popcorn!.

I think this is a great card for any movie fan.  Put a Theatre Gift Card inside and you have the perfect gift!

Thanks for looking!
