Happy Nurses Week

This week is National Nurses Week in Canada and the US.   A week where we take the time to say Thank You to all of the very hard working nurses out there who do a job that most of us could not stomach.  I know a few nurses and they are amazingly hard working, caring people who do there best everyday.

My very best friend in the world is a Nurse and she called me up and asked me to make some thank you cards for the nurses she works with.   Of course all she asked was that they have that super cute Punch art Owl Nurse!

So for all of the Nurses out there who work so hard everyday ... "You just give, give, give ... thanks, thanks, thanks."

Happy Nurses Day!

Sweet Baby ... An Oh So Pretty C.A.S.E. from Pinterest.

I saw a card on Pinterest (from Heather Summers) that used this beautiful colour combo, Crumb Cake, Vanilla and Pink Pirouette. Love It!!  The beautiful banner and the soft colours just made me want to re-create it.

I switched it up a little bit and changed the Crumb Cake to Soft Suede (I just feel I have used a lot of Crumb lately).

Here is what I have used to make this card...

Ink: Soft Suede and Pink Pirouette
Card Stock: Soft Suede and Very Vanilla
Accessories: Twine (retired), Pearls, Banner Punch (SAB)
Stamp Sets: Baby, We've Grown, Chevron Background, Petal Parade and Banner Blast (SAB)

I used an old piece of Pink Pirouette DSP for a liner on my envelope to finish off the look.

To the right is a close up of the absolutely adorable baby shoes in the set "Baby, We've Grown."   This set is in the Occasions Catalogue right now!  Check it out ...

Birthday Blend

I started playing with my Envelope Punch board last week.  Thanks to Becky Roberts at Inking Idaho, who creates some super cute File Folder Treat Holders. I will show you the link to her video tutorial at the bottom of this post.

I wanted to create a card for my friends birthday that would incorporate this great tool to hold the gift card I got her.   Check out what I came up with ....

Since I was giving her a coffee card I used the "Perfect Blend" stamp set.  I created a card to glue the Gift Card to.  The tab at the top is made from the Envelope Punch Board.  I then used some retired DSP to create the envelope on the Envelope Punch Board.  It was super easy using the measurement guide on the board.  I considered stamping or using an embossing folder for the base but in the end I wanted the Envelope to be the focal point and worried it would be too busy.

Click here to see the video on how to make the tab on the card.
