Swap to C.A.S.E. part. 4

Ok one more S2C card before I head off on my 4 day camping adventure!  My oldest girl starts school next Thursday so we are heading out of town for one last summer trip before she starts the grind!

When I saw the card on the left (the Swap) I immediately wanted to play with my butterfly punches.  You know it is a great Swap card when it inspires you to get crafting.

This card has some of my favorite colours incorporated in to it, unfortunately there was no name on the back so I have no idea who I should give credit to.  If it's yours comment below and I will give you a shout out on my Facebook page.
On the right is my take on the card.  I added bling and a bit of dimension by using a glue dot on the small white butterflies and lifting the wings.

I already have a little girl in mind to give this card too!   I hope you like it.

Have a great day!

Gingham Garden Joy Fold Card

Next week I am off to Convention and I don't know if I will be posting any new cards before then but I wanted to show you one of the last cards we did for Club last month.  The Joy Fold Card  is an old technique but it is so easy to decorate and make beautiful. You can use any style DSP to make it how ever you want it, such as masculine or child like.   In this case we went with pretty and feminine.

Gingham Garden DSP really makes this card so beautiful.  We used a Melon Mambo base and Island Indigo for the Joy Fold layer with Whisper White for our stamping.  We then used the DSP to layer and add beauty to the card.

Stamps used were, Papillion Potpourri, Perfectly Penned and Thoughts & Prayers.  Ink used was Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo.

I just love the cheerful look of this card.  For instructions on how to create a Joy Fold Card of your own, check out Split Coast Stampers Tutorial.

I will post some photos from Convention, including the swaps I made and some of the swaps I get!  So exciting!

Have a Great Day!

Butterfly Border Card

Ok so this weekend is a great one!  I went to Oz the Great and Powerful today with my family and it was so fun and then went shoe shopping, Yeah!! There is Free Shipping on Stampin' Up and my Club girls are coming over tomorrow for some fun!  It's enough to make me forget about the foggy and cold weather!

One of the cards we are making tomorrow is this Butterfly Border Card.  Jean Smuck made a great video tutorial (see below) and I just loved the beauty and simplicity of the card.  Plus butterflies are so wonderful!

I used Old Olive, Rich Razzelberry, Daffodil Delight and the now retired Pretty In Pink (I will miss that one).   The Papillion Potpourri is a great set for this as is the All New "Best of" set for April.

Check out this great video from Josee Smuck.

It's a great quick card for Birthdays, Get Well, Sympathy and much more.  Let me know how yours turns out!

April Fools Day ....

I am hoping this beautiful weather we are having is not Mother Nature's version of an April Fools day joke.  I want Spring to stay, especially since I am too sick to enjoy it, and I am going on a field trip to the Zoo on Thursday with my daughters class!

Since another month is starting I will show you a new Scrapbook Challenge I have sent to my clients and my MDS version of the challenge.

I really hope you can see this ok.  I guess I was not thinking about the white on white when I created these.    I took advantage of the Hexagon Punch in MDS.   I am really hopping to see this come out as an actual punch in the new Catalogue in June.

Another new Item in April is the "Best Of.." set.   April's theme is Butterflies!  Check this out.

Is this not a great set for spring and summer!  I just love butterflies (as you may have seen in my new Blog Header).

Butterflies Galore

Over my many evenings of blog surfing I have seen a number of these tri-fold cards and I have been meaning to try one. Finally I got inspired because Mother's day is a few weeks away and I needed a card for my Grandmother. Do you have the Papillon Potpourri stamp set? If not I really recommend it, especially now that you can get two butterflies punches that match the stamps. It really makes a card like this super easy and fast.

I used Regals as my colour palate because I rarely use these colours and I wanted to challenge myself and use my as yet unused Regals Ink pads.

The Sentiment is from the Family Reunion Set and I punched it with a large Oval punched and then layered it with an Eggplant Accent from the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. A couple of Rhinestones to finish it off and there we are.

We visited the Calgary Zoo today and the Butterflies are just starting to come out of their cocoons. Next time I am there I will work on getting a good shot to share.

Have a wonderful, fun-filled and Happy Easter!
