All New Occasions Catalogue ....

Arriving today is the all new Occasions Catalogue, it is full of fun products and ideas for Birthdays, Easter, Valentines and much much more!

Yesterday my Facebook followers got to see my first project with a great new Stamp Set from this Catalogue, not to mention the Sale-a-Bration Sneak Peek.  Today I want to show you an amazing kit in the new Catalogue that I finished this afternoon.

On Page 21 in the corner is this great kit called "Burlap and Blooms Simply Created wreath Kit" as soon as I saw it I wanted to create it.

You get everything you see here to create this wreath.  All you need is a glue gun!
I switched up the brads for some others (retired rhinestone brads) but otherwise kept to the script.  It took me maybe 2 hours.
I love the result.  It is so fun, and makes me think of spring.  We got 5cm of Snow today so a little spring is more than welcome.
Let me know what you think!
For those of you who do not follow me on Facebook (why not!!!).   Below is the card I posted the other day.
The card was created with a new Stamp Set called "Big Wish" and a few "sneak peek" items from the upcoming Sale-a-Bration!  Ink used was Crisp Cantaloupe,  Summer Starfruit, Pool Party and Pistachio Pudding.
I also used Pistachio Pudding and Whisper White Card Stock.  The background was created using the "Gorgeous Grunge" Stamp Set.

I would love to hear what you think.   What is your favourite new item from the Occasions Catalogue?

Festive Flurry

This year in the Holiday Catalogue there is a Stamp Set and Framelits Bundle called "Festive Flurry"  it is by far my favourite item from the Holiday Catalogue.  Back in August when I first received this bundle I decided to create a card that goes that extra mile and adds some beauty to your tree as well.   I wanted a card that would give off that wow factor but would also be a great gift.  So I created a card with a detachable ornament.

The silver foil paper from SU adds great shine to this ornament and those completely adorable "frosted finishes embellishments" are just perfect.

It just so happens that Stampin' Up came out with a really wonderful kit to create ornaments similar to the one above and they are available  now "while supplies last."

Festive Flurry Ornament Kit   135813   $17.95

You could easily add these to a card or gift to make it extra special.

I still think you can not go wrong with the Festive Flurry Bundle though.   See the banner at the top of my blog, yes, that's right, I used it there too!  In fact I have used this bundle more in the past 3 months than any other Framelit bundle.
 I love it!

Clear Mount   133285    $57.95  // Wood Mount     133284   $67.95

Don't take my word for it, Order the Bundle and see for yourself, and if you order this bundle from me in the next month you will get 2 of my Festive Flurry Ornaments for yourself*!   (Calgary residents only, sorry)

And don't forget the Amazing Holiday Sale going on Right Now...

Back to School ... Check!

Well now that Back to School is over, and thank goodness for it, I am ready to start Fall clubs, get started on designing Christmas Card Classes and play in my craft room for hours on end.    Well I know that won't happen every day but some days, maybe, I hope.

Ok so here are my precious darlings who are now in school and I am not one of those moms who is sad about that.  In fact I am happy to have them out of the house for a few hours everyday.  I know they are safe and learning and having fun and I get to have some time for myself!

But I digress, I spent a good chunk of August in my Craft room and I have yet to show you all of the very fun things I have made.   This is by far one of my most favourite projects for this Holiday season.

Stampin' UP has come up with this really great Build-a-Banner Kit.  As usual I did not think this would be for me the first time I saw it and I was TOTALLY Wrong!!  Typical.

Using the Build A Banner Simply Created Kit I took 4 of the canvas pennants (the kit comes with 18) and arranged them in a patteren that I liked.  I then used the images stencils included in the kit to create the pattern on each of the canvases.  The colours I used were, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay.
Each Pennant was sprayed with a re-inker and alcohol mixture.  Once dry I added the letter stencils and sprayed on the letters in Smokey Slate.

Some had the letters right on the canvas and some on paper. One worked just as well as the other.

I also added Snowflakes from the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies to the canvas and as accents on the twine.   I used the Silver Glimmer paper and Bermuda Bay and Pool Party Card Stock.

A little ribbon and some rhinestones finish the look.
I really am happy with how this turned out but more than that I was surprised at how easy it was to create!  It took me a few minutes to get the ink amount right and I did sacrifice one of my canvas pennants to practice with but they do give you 18.

I think I will work on a "Home" or "Create" banner next.   Some fun bright colours and flowers or butterflies!  Loads of possibilities with this kit.

See below for some details on the products I used for this.
