Bombs Away Birthday Set

I am a little behind in my posts lately.  The weather has finally been nice and I have been trying to enjoy it!  So now that we are back to seasonal temperatures and the wind is a bit chilly I got back in my craft room yesterday.   A few weeks ago Stampin' Up released their second Photopolymer Stamp Set and I fell in love with it right away.  It is so fun for Birthdays!

This is the first card I have made with it, it is totally retro and so fun.

When is the last time you listened to vinyl?  I am just in love with these cute records.  I simply used circle punches to create the records and stamped the sentiment in basic black.  The cardstock is also simply Whisper White and Basic Black.  This card could not be easier to make!

Check out the Bombs Away Birthday set!

Pac-man on Pinterest

I have been on Pinterest for about a year I think and I love it!  There are endless ideas for any topic!  Funny jokes, recipes, art, and of course crafts.  Cards, Scrapbooking and various Paper crafts can be found in abundance!  This card has been in my "Stampin' Up Ideas" folder for a long time and last weekend I finally had a reason to make it.  My youngest went to a Wreck-it Ralph Movie party.   Because of the video game theme of the movie I thought this card would be great!  The original is from Dany Piepgrass at INKcredible Kreations.

On the inside of the card I stamped a set of cherries from the retired Tart and Tangy Stamp set.  I used the 1 1/4" circle punch to create Pac-man in Daffodil Delight.   The ghosts are Real Red and Pumpkin Pie and punched from the Owl Builder Punch.  I also used the Word Window punch, Corner Rounder Punch, and a small circle punch from the Punch Pack.

This Birthday party was a joint party for two of her little friends and the second card I gave is one of my favourites from the past.  Since it was a movie party I thought a Popcorn card would be perfect.  Check out my original post from Sept. 12

Happy Birthday Kaiden and Cassie!

Are you ready for St. Patty's Day?

It is just one week to Saint Patrick's Day and although our Irish side is pretty small we still wear our best green and drink green beer (while my husband does anyway).  I found these really great punch art Leprechauns on Pinterest last summer and now I finally get to use them.   I made some treats for my club girls and for my day home kids.  Let me know what you think.

For the top of the baggie I used a Top Note Die folded in half, cut in Whisper White and sponged around the edge in Gumball Green.  I stamped the "Lucky you" from the set Afterthoughts* and "Happy St. Patrick's Day" from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Punches I used:
1 1/4" Circle (head)
1" Circle (hat)
Word Window (band on hat and brim)
Scallop Circle Punch (Hair/Beard)
5 Petal Flower (moustache)*
Confetti from Cupcake Builder Punch
   (Eyes/Nose)

I used a white Gel Pen for the eyes and some retired glimmer brads* for the decoration on the hat.   Don't have glimmer brads you say ... Then use the extra large rhinestones in the Spring Mini and colour them with a green sharpie!

Card stock used was Tangerine Tango, Gumball Green, Very Vanilla and Basic Black.

* These items are retired.

Below is the original design/post by Crystal Boling.  What a great treat!  I did not have any peppermint patties but I had some chocolate gold coins and skittles so I thought; Rainbow and Pot of Gold!  Fun.

Enjoy your week and remember next Sunday is Saint Patty's Day!  How are you spending your day?

Wedded Bliss and a Little Paradise!

This weekend we are in Vernon celebrating a wonderful couple, Shannon and Marco.   Shannon is a close friend of the family and my oldest daughter got to be the flower girl in her wedding!  We have been very excited to share this day with them and in preparation I created a card for their wedding that I hope Shannon will love!   Her favourite flower is the Bird of Paradise and she has based her wedding colours on this flower.  So I searched the web for a punch art flower that would look great on her card!  I found one flower made by a wonderful crafty lady in Oahu Hawaii and I just had to CASE it.   Check out the original blog by Brenda at Sweet as a Gumdrop .

If you go to Brenda's Blog you will see how she made the flowers using the Bird Builder Punch. I added the leaves at the bottom using the Blossom Builder Punch.

The Colours are Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Concord Crush (retired).  I used the Framed Tulip Embossing Folder around the edge, added some pearls for accents and a stamp from an old retired stamp set called "Happily Ever After"

I love how this turned out and I hope Shannon and Marco love it just as much.

Back to School with some Blast from the Past

Well I have been busy getting ready to  back to school and thinking about my Christmas Card class so I have not made any back to school items but here are a couple of things from previous years to get you in the "Back to School" mood.

This great little School Bus is cased from Heather Summers!  I gave it to Jillian's First School bus driver a couple of years ago.

This is a post it note holder easel card.  I cannot take credit for the idea but I cannot remember where I saw it.  I am sure it was on Splitcoast Stampers. I love the punch art in both of these cards.  Once Jillian gets her teacher assignment I may have to make another for her new teacher!

Well I have a couple of ideas for the first day of school and will post those soon (if I can get them done LOL).   Hope you are enjoying these last days of summer.  Take Care.

Thanks for looking!
