Where Have I been???

I have been away, it has been a week with no computer and I think now that it is back I just want to get back on-line!   I will be spending the next 24 hours re-installing everything on my newly fixed PC but I wanted to just put up a quick note to say I am around and will be posting new content soon!!

This weekend I am off to the Wild Rose Retreats to craft and craft and craft some more.  I will be working on Christmas cards for some classes I have coming up and maybe some great projects for a Fun Christmas event I am looking at doing.

I will keep you posted.  Until then check out this SU video showcasing the ALL NEW "Snowflake Card Die" it is adorable!

Project Life - Video from SU.

Stampin' Up has introduced a new line of Scrapbooking supplies this year that are completely fabulous.   Project Life is a great, easy and beautiful way to scrapbook.  One of my favourite things about it is that even if you do not like the format of divided pages you can use all of the wonderful supplies on a standard 12x12 page!  So fun.  Check out this wonderful video showcasing the beautiful and simple Love Story Collection from Project Life is.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a great club meeting last weekend and learned the Joseph's Coat technique.   It is so pretty and I can think of some more great cards to use with this.

This is a fun and easy technique with lots of impact.

For this card we used the "Gently Falling" Stamp set.  The colours for the base were Crushed Curry,  Always Artichoke and Cajun Craze.   The top colour is Early Espresso.

You can see how it goes from a blend of colours to a pop of colour by adding the clear embossing and a dark coat of ink over the excess.

Below is a You Tube video I found that shows you exactly how to make this.

Sorry for the short post, I thought with both kids in school now I would have so much time to myself!  HA!!  I am busier than ever.

I just want to mention a couple of new Photo Polymer Stamps sets and one in particular that looks really fun for this time of year.  "Bite Me"

Butterfly Border Card

Ok so this weekend is a great one!  I went to Oz the Great and Powerful today with my family and it was so fun and then went shoe shopping, Yeah!! There is Free Shipping on Stampin' Up and my Club girls are coming over tomorrow for some fun!  It's enough to make me forget about the foggy and cold weather!

One of the cards we are making tomorrow is this Butterfly Border Card.  Jean Smuck made a great video tutorial (see below) and I just loved the beauty and simplicity of the card.  Plus butterflies are so wonderful!

I used Old Olive, Rich Razzelberry, Daffodil Delight and the now retired Pretty In Pink (I will miss that one).   The Papillion Potpourri is a great set for this as is the All New "Best of" set for April.

Twisted Greeting Card

The other day I saw this great You Tube Video by Kelly Gettelfinger showing a very simple different card design she called a "Twisted Greeting Card."  It is a wonderful design for gift giving as it has built in pockets for gift cards!  Check out the Video here and my take on it below...

So I decided to use up some of my retired products to create a Twisted Greeting Card.  I have used some Raspberry Tart DSP and a retired stamp set called "Three Little Words."  The base is using Lucky Limeade.

Inside the card I put a gift card and a little sentiment "it's your day" also retired.

I may have to make a Christmas Card form this!

Hope you like it.

Thanks for looking!

Christmas Ribbon Card

A week ago I watched a video from Dawn Olchefske on how to create a wonderful Christmas card using the new Holiday Collection Framelits and Ribbon.   If you are anything like me you have loads of extra ribbon and this is a great card for using up ribbon.  I made my own version of course but here is Dawn's Video.   My card is at the bottom of this post.

Great Idea right!  I really do love the Framelits from the current Holiday Mini!

I used Chocolate Chip, Real Red and Crumb Cake Card Stock.  Using Gumball Green, White Real Red and Chocolate Chip Ribbon for the Framelits Cut-outs and my Petite Pairs Stamp Set for the Merry Christmas.  I also used my Chocolate Chip Marker for the "stitched" look around the card.

Hope you like my take on the card and I hope it helps you get into the Christmas Crafting Spirit!

Triple Time Stamping

Are you in need of a super quick card for any occasion?  Well Dawn Olchefske a really wonderful Stampin' Up Demo,  has a great video tutorial that shows you how to make a super simple card using a technique she calls; Triple Time Stamping.

Her card is simple and beautiful.  Her blog is full of great video tutorials and if you ever wonder where I get inspiration from her site is one of many (see list to the right).   Below is my take on this card.

I used some colours I would not normally put together;  Very Vanilla, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette and Night of Navy.  I also used a stamp set I have had for a year and never used!!  "It's Raining Flowers" was a stamp set I got at convention last year and I have never found a use for it!  Well this card was perfect for it and I was so happy I finally got it off the shelf.  Hope you like the video from Dawn and the card it inspired.  Have a great weekend everyone.
