It's A Boy!! My Upline Amber Chapman had a little baby boy this week. Rhett Trevor Chapman! He is totally adorable and such a sweet angel. It took me a while to figure out what kind of card I wanted to make and in the end it was so detailed I had to make it a 6x6!! I really do not know why Noah's Ark is associated with babies but it is and it is really fun and cute so here is my take on Noah's Ark using the Fox and Friends (retired) stamp set. Welcome Rhett!
Oh where do I begin? I used Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise Card Stock with a Whisper White background. I used the Core'dinations Card Stock in Early Espresso for the Ark and embossed it with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. Plus Crumb Cake for the interior. Of course I fussy cut all of the animals and used the cupcake punch for the clouds.
For the Interior of the card I used MDS2 to create the tag and then cut it out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits.
Below is a Hybrid Card. I created the kids and sentiment on MDS2 and then printed it on Whisper White Card Stock. I created the remainder of the card with Marina Mist and Bashful Blue Card Stock and DSP and scored the edges of the white layer for texture.
I even got to colour a little using my pencil crayons and blender pens!! I love to colour.
Congrats to the Chapman Family, Rhett is adorable and I am so excited for all of you.
I love these telescope cards. They are so fun and there are endless options. I saw a card like this on Pinterest and I love the "No Peeking" Stamp Set.
For the Card I used a selection of Circle Dies, the Large Scallop Circle Die, 2 1/2" Circle and 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punches.
I am using a variation of this for my Kid's Card Class on Sunday! Very exciting!
ALSO A QUICK REMINDER..
November 28 - ONE DAY ONLY SALE Tomorrow is the last day of the Online Extravaganza and for this one day only there are some extra deals to be had. Click Here for more information.
Well it is late and I am heading to bed but I really wanted to get this card out first. I enjoy sketch challenges as they allow you to go with any colour combo and style you like. Of course with Christmas just around the corner I have been busy making lots of cards. I added a load of shimmer to this card, I hope you can see it.
I used my favourite retired Christmas stamp "Dasher" I miss it so much and still pull it out whenever I need a pretty and simple Christmas Card. I also pulled out some retired Riding Hood Red Ribbon and the retired Snow burst Embossing Folder. I miss all of these items. I used Vanilla, Soft Suede and Riding Hood Red Card Stock plus Espresso Ink for Dasher. I spritzed on Champagne
Shimmer mist and added glitter to Dashers antlers and nose. I had to put the Sentiment below Dasher because I just did not like the look of the card with it above.
Christmas Cards are my favourite cards to create! There are so many wonderful options, designs and colors. Metallics
are perfect for the Christmas season as in "shiny and bright" and this weeks Paper Players Challenge takes full advantage of this. The Challenge is to make a Clean and Simple card with Gold and/or Silver. I do not have a lot of gold product in my inventory as I tend to lean toward the silver so when I was creating cards with my friends at the Wild Rose retreat and I saw a girlfriend use the Star Tree stamp with silver embossing powder I just had to create a card around it! So here it is.
I used Whisper White Card Stock and the Northern Flurry Embossing folder. I added the Star Tree in Silver Embossing Powder and some rhinestone jewels to finish it off. It was so pretty I did not even add as sentiment on the exterior.
For more wonderful Gold and/or Silver creations check out the Paper Players Blog

Here is more from my Christmas Collection. I saw a couple of cards similar to this on Pinterest (my new favourite site for inspiration) and wanted to use this colour combo! The colours are Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, and Pool Party.
I love this colour combo for Christmas. It is so pretty and soft. Thank you to whoever created this on pinterest.
I have been wanting to try a Whisper White and Very Vanilla combo lately so I thought why not try it on a Challenge from Freshly Made Sketches, after all they are the Queens of Clean.
I used a White Base with a Vanilla Layer. I added no sponging, sprtizing or stamping (which is totally against my nature). I then added White and Vanilla strips that have been embossed with the Snow Burst Embossing Folder. I also added a little hint of sparkle with the Champaign
Glitter Paper. The Circle and Scallop Circle are punches as the snowflake is from a retired die.

Do you ever get sick of Traditional Christmas colours? Red, Green, Blue or White, all great colours for Christmas but sometimes it is nice to break with tradition and try something new. I saw this wonderful card on Pinterest. I cannot find the original pinner but whoever it was I love it and had to CASE it. I may have made some small changes but the main concept behind the card is an elegant black and white Christmas.
I used a white base and then added a black layer that has been embossed with the Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder and spritzed with Frost White Shimmer Paint mixed with alcohol. The ornament is from the Ornament Keepsake Bundle in the Holiday Mini. A rhinestone and ribbon finish off the ornament and a small piece of White Bakers Twine make it look like it is hanging. The sentiment is from the retired stamp set, Four the Seasons.
It is one of my favourite Non Traditional
Christmas card. I hope you like it.
And don't forget from Now until December 16 you can get a FREE family of Ink pads!! That is a $65 value!!
I spent last weekend at a Scrapbooking Retreat hosted by my Upline Amber. I love the Wild Rose Retreats because I get to spend 2 full days of crafting without interruptions. This weekend I spent getting ready for upcoming card classes and then went to work on Christmas Cards! Thanks to Pinterest I found lots of inspiration. To start off I have a card I made using my one of my new favourite sets Zoo Review.
This card was created using Midnight Muse, Marina Mist and Whisper White Card Stock. The present is from the Jolly Bingo Bits and stamped in Cherry Cobbler. The Happy Holidays is from the retired Four the Seasons stamp set. I added Dazzeling Details to the snow for some sparkle and I used the Snow Burst Embosing Folder on the background.
I will be adding many more cards over the next few weeks and I hope you are inspired to start (if you have not already) to create for Christmas.
