It's a Pinterest Christmas

This year when I found myself stuck for ideas for my Christmas Cards I quickly turned to the one site that has ideas for everything!  Truly, everything is on Pinterest!  You could spend hours lost in the pins, boards and links.  The two cards below were inspired by Pinterest.

Cardstock - Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Vanilla.
Ink - Espresso, Soft Suede
Accessories - Cobbler Ribbon, 1 1/4" circle scallop punch, paper snips, crystal effects.
Stamp Sets - Petite Pairs, Joyful Christmas

Cardstock - Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red, Silver Glimmer Paper
Accessories - Petals a Plenty Embossing Folder, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder (r), 3/4" circle punch, 1 1/4" Square Punch, 1" Square Punch and Apothecary Accents Framelits.

I really liked these two as they are both simple and very different. I also love the textures.   Let me know what you think!

Pinterest Inspired me!! Christmas Grunge

I found a card on Pinterest similar to this one and I just had to go in my craft room and try it.  I just love the colour combo and how all of the elements work together.   Distressing, sponging and of course the use of the "Gorgeous Grunge" set all add to the vintage look.  I have also added a faint "En Francais" background stamp.

The colours used are Crumb Cake, Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, a hint of Garden Green and some  Designer Series Paper.  I also added a touch of Champaign Glimmer paper and some twine.  All of these elements came from the original card made by Inkspire Me.

I love Pinterest.  The inspiration is amazing!!!   Thanks for looking.   I am off to my friend Amber's Wild Rose Retreat this weekend so I will have lots to post when I return!!!  So Excited!

Baby's Cards - You always need one more!

My kids are now 5 and 8 and I am done having babies. Most of my friends are done having babies and my Husband and I are the youngest in our families, therefore, no more nieces or nephews for us!  I think!!

It seems however I am always in need of just one more baby card!  A family friend of mine just had a little boy (in fact I used to babysit her when she was 3!  I am feeling a little old!) and another Stampin' Friend is due in November.  So as I said there is always need for another baby card.

When I surf Pinterest I pin a lot of baby cards that catch my eye, I then proceed to forget about them and when I need a baby card I am rushing to get one made.

Not this time!   I saw a Digital Studio card on Pinterest with this little Fisher Price toy on it and thought I could create that with my Word Window punch!   I literally shut my computer, walked into my craft room and went to work!  I love it when that happens.  And I really love how this turned out!

Let me know what you think.

I used the standard Primary Colours for this card, Real Red, Pacific Blue, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie.  I did Clear Emboss the punched pieces to make them look more plastic and I really like how the effect worked.   The Paper I used for the toy is last years Brights Pack DSP.

The Sentiment at the bottom is a combination of about 5 or 6 sets.   I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to make it look like word art.  This will be for a boy but it could have just as easily been made for a little girl.

Well I guess it is time to get back to Pinterest.  I need more ideas like this!

Thanks for looking!

Pac-man on Pinterest

I have been on Pinterest for about a year I think and I love it!  There are endless ideas for any topic!  Funny jokes, recipes, art, and of course crafts.  Cards, Scrapbooking and various Paper crafts can be found in abundance!  This card has been in my "Stampin' Up Ideas" folder for a long time and last weekend I finally had a reason to make it.  My youngest went to a Wreck-it Ralph Movie party.   Because of the video game theme of the movie I thought this card would be great!  The original is from Dany Piepgrass at INKcredible Kreations.

On the inside of the card I stamped a set of cherries from the retired Tart and Tangy Stamp set.  I used the 1 1/4" circle punch to create Pac-man in Daffodil Delight.   The ghosts are Real Red and Pumpkin Pie and punched from the Owl Builder Punch.  I also used the Word Window punch, Corner Rounder Punch, and a small circle punch from the Punch Pack.

This Birthday party was a joint party for two of her little friends and the second card I gave is one of my favourites from the past.  Since it was a movie party I thought a Popcorn card would be perfect.  Check out my original post from Sept. 12

Happy Birthday Kaiden and Cassie!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Ok I know I am a day early.  But I am heading to West Edmonton Mall with my kids for our annual Family Day Long Weekend Trip to Edmonton.  So I am posting today as I plan to leave the computer at home with the hubby!

Today was both of the kiddies Valentines Parties at their schools so we have loads of cute Valentines and candy and pencils ect...

Here is the run down on what we gave away, including Megan's fun Pinterest inspired Card and Jillian's little treat Matchbox Valentines.   I also made a few little treats for my day home girls.

At Jillian's School there is a No Treat Policy,  Much to her dismay!  So I found some cute little stickers in boxes at the dollar store and they fit perfectly inside the SU Matchbox Die.  I did all the cutting and assembling of the boxes and Jillian added on the hearts and birds.  She loves to craft and really enjoyed creating these for her classmates.

For my day home kids I bought Smarties!  In Canada Smarties are similar to M&M's but kids seem to like them even more (I kind of do too).  I created these wrappers out of retired DSP and crimped the edges.  I love how they turned out.  I then added a quick label using the Hearts A Flutter Framelits and Stamp Set.
Here is another view of the same thing.  I just used the measurements of the box of candy and added 3" to the length so I had enough on the ends to crimp.

I saved my favourite Valentine for last.  I found a number of these photos on Pinterest (LOVE that site) and since Megan is still in Pre-School and allowed to give candy I thought I would give them a shot.  I really Love how they turned out.  I just added a "Happy Valentine - From Megan"  and sent them off to Walmart for printing.  A couple of hole punches using my handy Crop-a-dile and a sucker!  LOVE IT!!

Have a wonderful Weekend and a very Happy Valentines Day!

Have a great Day!!!
